A career as a Pharmacy Technician could be closer than you think.
Length of program: 7 months.
The Pharmacy technician program is offered in partnership with Boston Reed. Our Pharmacy Technician training program educates you to work in all types of pharmacies, including a commercial pharmacy, a hospital, a nursing home, or assisted living facility. We combine 182 hours of classroom instruction with a 120-hour pharmacy externship to give you on-the-job experience. This practical experience allows many of our students to receive job offers immediately upon graduation! Externships are offered at a pharmacy or facility near your campus. Over the course of 7 months, you will gain exposure to the preparation of medications, maintaining client records, assisting with inventory control, purchasing, collecting payments, and coordinating billing.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician
national examination. Most states require pharmacy technicians to register with a state board. You can also pursue professional certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT).
