      The heart of this course will be for the student to develop a strong sense of style while emphasizing the creative approach to exploring watermedia with fresh eyes toward composition, design and color. The objective is to help students gain confidence as they create more freely in a safe and creative environment, tapping into their creative spirit and artistic voice. Techniques will include new concepts and ideas exploring watermedia paint, layering of mediums and collage. Methods taught will be suitable for representational and abstract subjects. Come ready to paint outside of the lines, splash in the paint and have FUN!

      Tibetan Yoga is the confluence of centuries of ancient Indian, Chinese, and Tibetan practices. It is a complete practice cycle, and is sufficient to achieve and maintain body-mind fitness. It includes self-massage and acupressure, postures, stretching, dynamic movement, breath-work, gestures, mantra recitation, progressive relaxation, and meditative contemplation, to center the practitioner and align body, energy, and mind. Tibetan Yoga hones the practitioner's faculties and supports the manifestation of natural perfection.
 
   Prerequisites: No previous experience or fitness level is required. There is no competition, no striving, and no ultimate goal to be attained. All can derive benefit from these practices.

   Notes: This sequence includes TSA Lung, a very gentle practice that focuses on stretching and conditioning the energy channels (nadis/meridians), favoring the proper flow of prana (vital force) throughout the organism. The metabolic portion includes, Tummo.       Nei Dan QiGong is a gentle exercise with slow movements. With a synchronized breath and focused intention we will enhance and activate the acupuncture system throughout the body. The class includes also an acupressure program that balance and stimulate the acupuncture system, the flow of Qi, for improved well-being. This DaMo QiGong form is 1500 years old and part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including the foundation of acupuncture, Tai Chi and Martial Art. It boosts natural immunity as well as prevents and treats ill health. This is a co-ed program and no previous experience or fitness level is required.

   Public Service - Concealed Handgun LicenseTell a Friend!
 
      Our Concealed Handgun License (CHL) classes are Saturday classes with the classroom session and the firearm proficiency demonstration being conducted on the same day. The content of the course is set by the Texas Department of Public Safety, as is the course length, 6 hours. The classroom portion of the course includes (I) The application process (II) License restrictions and rules (III) Non-violent dispute resolution (IV) Rights of citizens involving the use of force and their restrictions and (V) The safe handling and storage of firearms. At completion of the course, you will be issued the State required Handgun Proficiency Certificate (Form CHL-100).

   Notes: For the handgun proficiency demonstration, you will shoot a timed course of fire consisting of 50 rounds fired at a 24"x 45" silhouette target. 20 rounds are fired from the 3-yard line, 20 rounds are fired from the 7-yard line and the remaining 10 rounds are fired from the 15-yard line. All firing is highly supervised. Please wear comfortable clothing, and close-toed shoes. You will also need to provide ammunition (50 Rounds Minimum).

      This class is an entry level course for handgun shooters and is designed specifically for those who have not had any formal instruction. Topics covered include the following: safety, stance, grip, sight alignment/sight picture and trigger control. Familiarization with their service pistol includes fieldstripping and maintenance. In addition to this, other topics that may be covered include reloads, and introduction to different skill drills including dry fire and bullseye shooting.

Grayson College Theatre Department is hosting a Theatre Camp (GPAC) for high school Performers and Technicians in our recently renovated multi-million dollar Arts & Communication Center.
